Bunnahabhain 12 Cask Strength 2021

From The Whisky Exchange

The 2021-release of Bunnahabhain's Cask Strength 12 Year Old, inspired by the cask strength tastings given to visitors in the distillery's iconic Warehouse 9. Aromas of blackberries, orange, toasted oak, vanilla and cinnamon fill the nose, complemented by notes of creamy milk chocolate, sherry-soaked fruit, rich nuttiness, cloves, nutmeg and sea salt throughout the palate, with hints of cherries and oak spice lingering in the finish.

From Master of Malt

A particularly full-flavoured single malt from Islay's brilliant Bunnahabhain, inspired by the tastings that visitors enjoy at the distillery's Warehouse 9. Within those glorious walls, whisky fans get to taste Bunnahabhain's excellent whisky right from the cask, and as such, this expression has been bottled up at cask strength! With lots of sherry notes at its heart, alongside warming oak and just a smidge of sea breeze, this single malt does a fantastic job of showing off why Bunnahabhain is so well-loved.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Flamed orange peel, redcurrant, cinnamon sticks, and mocha.

Palate: Still quite chocolate, with raisin, sultana, and ginger in support. Hints of sea air, with toasted walnut too.

Finish: Lasting oaky spices and a final hint of sherry.
