Bunnahabhain 12 Cask Strength 2022

Our second annual 12 Year Old Cask Strength release has been bottled at a higher abv of 56.6%, creating really intense, rich and concentrated flavours.  With lots of spice, orange marmalade and bold dried fruit notes balanced with toasted oak.

Description

Inspired by our warehouse 9 experience at the distillery where visitors taste whiskies straight from the cask, our second annual release of 12 year old cask strength really celebrates everything that makes Bunnahabhain special.  It's unpeated, sherried and spicy with more intense and rich flavours of dried fruit and spice compared to the more gentle 2021 release.

To create this special release, our Blending Team hand select casks based on type and profile.  Mainly matured in first and second fill Oloroso sherry casks with a small percentage of Bourbon barrels to balance out the flavours, this whisky offers a 'behind the scenes peek' into our spirit before it goes to our Master Blender; Julieann Fernandez, to work her magic to create our iconic 12 year old.

Like all our whiskies, this is non-chillfiltered and bottled with natural colour.
