Excellent single malt from the Glencadam Distillery, which has enjoyed a finishing period in Port casks – hence the name Reserva de Porto! This expression was distilled in 2004 and initially allowed to slumber in ex-bourbon American oak casks before being moved over to Port pipes until it was bottled at 17 years of age. Big ol' helpings of red fruit and runny caramel notes to enjoy here. A release of 7,770 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Cooked strawberries, melted butter, a flash of ginger and cinnamon heat.
Palate: Poached pear, raspberry, more vanilla and toffee, oat cakes giving a subtle savoury hint.
Finish: Blackcurrant and blueberry, with a touch of coffee.
