Glenmorangie Malaga Finish

This astonishingly sweet, rich whisky personally selected by Dr. Bill, is finished in casks which once held one of the world's rarest fortified wines, a style that almost became extinct.

Malaga wines, originating from the sun-kissed south of Spain in the area surrounding the ancient city of Malaga, exist in a few styles, but by far the most sough after is 'Malaga dulce', the sweet version.

This ancient wine is so rare that it is difficult to find bottled, and its use in the Scotch Whisky industry for finishing is almost unheard of.

A Limited-edition 12-year-old single malt matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in casks that previously held one of the rarest fortified wines in the world - Malaga Dulce.

NOSE

Sweet, rich scents of honey, mead, toffee and baking bread entwine with aromatic tea leaves. Then comes a subtle, perfumed top note of stewed herbs and red fruits, followed by milk chocolate hints. A splash of water releases wood incense, roasting chestnuts and muscovado sugar.

TASTE

A rich, oily texture brings sultanas, raisins and dates bursting onto the palate. Mandarin orange, milk chocolate, honey and more brown sugar come to the fore, beautifully woven with vibrant citrus. Then cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and star anise emerge, before hazelnut, honey and gentle oak shine through in a long, mellow finish.
