From The Whisky Exchange (link new window)
The first limited-release whisky in Cotswolds Distillery's Harvest Series, Golden Wold is a marriage of ex-bourbon, ex-red wine and ex-peated whisky casks, inspired by the picturesque landscape surrounding the distillery. Aromas of honey, vanilla and soft peat smoke fill the nose, complemented on the palate by notes of sweet cream, coconut, oaky spice, cinnamon, vanilla and wisps of peat smoke that linger in the finish.

Golden Wold is a limited edition whisky from Cotswolds Distillery, and the first release of its annual Harvest Series. This release blends whisky matured in bourbon and STR red wine casks, as well as casks that used to hold peated liquid, for a complex and balanced blend. As a nod to the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, the presentation tubes feature original artwork from Cotswolds local, Josephine Trotter. Only 5,000 bottles are included in this release, non-chill filtered and with no added colour, at a robust ABV of 52.5%, a few drops of water should open this up wonderfully.
