The Bonington is the first single malt distillery in Leith, Edinburgh, in nearly 100 years. Construction of the distillery began in 2017, and the logo's citadel draws inspiration from old fortification ruins discovered during the distillery's foundation construction. It was commissioned in December 2019 and started its production in March the following year.
This is the very first single malt release from this Lowland distillery. This single cask was aged in a Ruby port cask, resulting in sweet, fruity malt with delicate spice and a long finish.

Whisky Resource Note
At the time of writing there doesnt appear to be an official product page for the inaugural release, the information in this listing has been taken from The Aberdeen Whisky Shop, the bottle image appears to have a date error for the distillation date, it shows as 24-03-23 when it should read 24-03-20
There is also no mention of it being cask strength on the listing or on any of the product images, however, it is more than likely cask strength.
