Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has announced the much-anticipated launch of Cask Strength Batch No. 007.

The latest release in the Glengoyne Cask Strength series, Cask Strength Batch No. 007 is the first in the collection to feature a small proportion of bourbon barrels in the cask recipe.

Bottled un-chillfiltered at 58.9% ABV, Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 007 has been crafted using a combination of first-fill European and American oak Oloroso sherry casks, refill casks and bourbon barrels.

Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 007 boasts a fruity, malty flavour profile, featuring notes of cinnamon, orange, peaches and honey. Its warm amber-gold hue is imparted from time and wood alone. This commitment to natural colour is only possible because of Glengoyne Distillery’s world-class wood policy which sees sherry casks embark on a 6-year journey before Glengoyne’s new-make spirit is filled into the oak.

Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 007 follows the launch last month of the Glengoyne Legacy Series: Chapter One, the first new global release from Glengoyne Distillery since October 2017.

The bourbon plays a light, but important, part in the overall cask recipe.”

Feast your eyes upon Batch 7 of Glengoyne's Cask Strength expression! These bottlings show off the rich, powerful Glengoyne flavour profile wonderfully. The whisky is drawn from first-fill European and American oak Oloroso sherry casks, refill casks and bourbon barrels, and bottled without any chill-filtration or additional colouring.

Nose: Caramel and chocolate, with a hearty kick of spicy oak and cinnamon.

Palate: Plenty of dried fruit and walnut notes as it opens, followed by coffee bean, cedar and hints of floral barley.

Finish: It goes on and on, with notes of honey and clove lingering.
