Kilkerran 12 Year Old

From The Whisky Exchange

This heavily peated single malt from Kilkerran was distilled at the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown. A highly popular expression that is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, it offers classic Campbeltown characteristics with robust and rich notes of brine and fruits. This edition also offers flavours of smoky peat, freshly baked bramble apple pie and sweet salted caramel, with a creamy long finish.

Whisky Resource Note

The Kilkerran Official Website has very limited / infrequently updated information about their bottle releases.
The following has been taken from the Kilkerran Homepage, while the tasting notes were next to an image of the Heavily Peated Bottle, some of the text above made reference to the Kilkerran 8 Year Old, however we are confident the notes are those for the Heavily Peated (The last line of the Finish gives this away).

Nose: The nose is slightly mineral, with peat smoke apparent from the outset and a malty, cereal note.

Palate: Orchard fruits and the peat smoke becomes more prominent on the palate in notes of campfire embers.

Finish: A long, sweet finish concludes this heavily peated dram.
