The Whisky Exchange Note
The Glenburgie 18-year-old single malt whisky was first introduced in 2019 under the Ballantine’s whisky label – suitably so since Glenburgie has long been associated with the brand itself. The Glenburgie distillery in Speyside provides the malty heart for many of Ballantine’s blends and is traditionally aged in ex-bourbon casks. This expression showcases aromas of red apples and berries accompanied by honeycomb candy sweetness. Fruity oranges and sweet blackcurrants make an appearance on the palate, along with the velvety smooth texture of honey that has a round and long-lasting effect. This is a highly aromatic malt whisky that pairs well with the sweetness of coconuts.
Whisky Resource Note:
Glenburgie don't currently have their own website and don't release their own whisky, except this is an official distillery bottle, however under the Ballantines Label - Glenburgie being one of the core malts in the Ballantines blended scotch whisky. Glenburgie is owned by Chivas Bros (who produce the Ballantines Blend), they are owned by Pernod Ricard.
