A moment for Moscatel
Our soft, sweet and fruity Filey Bay Moscatel Finish is a favourite for many and we’re delighted to say that Batch #4 is now available. A primary maturation in ex-Bourbon creates a light and fruity whisky that the ex-Moscatel casks add depth and sweetness too.
An old friend
Launched back in March 2020, Filey Bay Moscatel Finish was our first ‘finished’ whisky and quickly became a favourite of ours – and our customers – to savour and enjoy. The preceding Batches have won a number of awards including Gold at the World Whisky Masters 2022, and now Batch #4 is ready to be enjoyed.

The fourth batch of Filey Bay's Moscatel finish single malt from the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery was primarily matured in ex-bourbon casks, before its stint in Moscatel seasoned oak. The palate offers notes of raisin, cocoa powder and honey, with honeysuckle, vanilla and toffee apples in the finish.

Nose Brown sugar and ripe tropical fruit, with tinned pineapple and nectarine, followed by white pepper and orange peel.
Palate Candied orange and muscovado sugar, with baking spices, dusty cocoa and crisp apple, with a kick of ginger.
Finish Dried banana and cooked pineapple, with toasty oak spice.
